Bruce Goodison has been a film maker of award winning documentaries and drama’s for over 30 years. His feature film Leave to Remain featured the stories and young people who had experience of attempting to get “leave to remain” in the UK. It opened up a world that had been ignored, that of the conditions for traumatised teenagers seeking sanctuary within an adversarial immigration system designed to deny children their human right. The experience of making this film has meant that Bruce is now dedicated to making sure that asylum is considered for what it should be - a place for protection not persecution for traumatised people.
