SAFER INTERNET DAY 2024

Today marks Safer Internet Day 2023, with global awareness and learning based around the theme ‘Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online’.

In the heart of our mission at Compass Collective lies a commitment to fostering digital inclusivity. We strive to inspire and empower young individuals, offering access to online resources to dismantle barriers that often hinder educational integration, particularly for those navigating their integration into the UK.

However, recent research has cast a heavy light on the vulnerability of young people in the online world. A range of issues, from online bullying to misinformation and coerced abuse, is becoming increasingly pervasive. These realities challenge the assumption that young people, raised in a world dominated by computers and smartphones posses a heightened tech-savviness. In truth, these young people often approach online risks with an unintended trust and therefore a lack of the caution necessary to navigate the evolving digital landscape.

In response to these alarming trends, Compass Collective are dedicated, not only today but every day, to creating a safer online environment for our young people.

Join us in our commitment to safeguarding the well-being of our young people. We’re striving to create an online space that is not only accessible and educational but, above all, safe for young minds to flourish and thrive.

What will Compass Collective be doing today :

  • Joining the hundreds of organisations, schools and charities across the UK in spreading the message , find us on the map!

  • Teaching our online Connect English Classes the importance of online safety and ways to be more aware of online dangers.

  • Spreading the word to our partners and followers across all our socials
